This video is the first in a new series we’re calling Mix Notes — short performances that we show in their entirety, and while you watch, we mix the tune.
To inaugurate the Mix Notes series, we asked Anna Ash to stop by and record a performance of “Floodlights” from her 2016 album, Floodlights.
The performance was recorded with an A-Designs Pacifica preamp and two beautiful AEA microphones: a KU4, which had a nice presence that worked really well on Anna’s voice, and a N22, one of the best close-mic guitar amp mics we’ve ever heard.
You can hear the final mix on SoundCloud.
